The themes of the Sweden – U.S. Entrepreneurial Forum 2009 are:

  • Peer to Peer Technologies
  • Copyright Laws
  • New Business models for the Music, Movies and any industry that complains about Peer to Peer networks.

If you guessed that this is not true, then you are right. Yes, it may only happened in my day dreams, however if my day dream are to become true, trust me this will be good, really good (and productive).

Today I went to the 2008 Sweden- US Forum and to be honest, it didn’t leave me with anything, other than two presenters, it was boring event (at least the carrot cake was good). Yes, they say that the networking sessions are important here, however so little was done with so much.

What a better place to discuss about copyrights, business models and peer to peer technologies than the US-Sweden forum, in the home [country] of The Pirate Bay. That will be a site to see, a bunch of corporate people and VCs mingling with supporters of the bittorrent and with companies making money (or not) of p2p tech (Joost, Veoh, Mininova, Jamendo) . And as a desert why not have the Pirate Party, the PirateByran and policy makers, figuring out how to deal with current situation and copyright laws. Workshops could be made, DDARTs will fly around, ideas could be born, real discussions and question will happen on the panels.

Here, we are putting together the name of two countries that represent, opposite poles in this themes. You have to understand that I’m not proposing a circus; freedom of speech and opinion should be respected (no raids permitted please). The ultimate purpose is to find possible solutions, exchange ideas, create awareness and educate people. You can’t imagine how many interesting things could be done with p2p tech.

This idea will need a lot of thinking and should be executed on a special way, for it to work. Nevertheless it’s worth it, its a topic that actually is changing the world, we can’t continue to ignored it, especially by US and Sweden.

Dreaming is good, day dreaming is better, either.. keep doing it
