If you Google Randy Pausch, most of the results will be about his death or “The Last Lecture”. The Last Lecture was a lecture he made on the university of Carnegie Mellon on the 18 of September of 2007. What is Ironic being a top contributors to the field of Virtual Reality, what dominates on the search is about his last days. However the lecture is a way for him to celebrate his life even if the world just wants to remember his last part of his life. And what a better way to do it but to recall “the making of his childhood dreams true.”

Beyond the last lecture what where his contributions in the years before? Here are the most important:

  • Founder of the Alice Project, an educational software that teaches students computer programming in a 3D environment.
  • Founder of Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC)
  • Creator of Building Virtual Worlds, a coarse where students work interdisciplinary teams to create interactive worlds every two weeks.
  • VR on five dollars a day its a VR system made with hacked stuff for 5,000 dollars.
  • Being a Disney Imagineer

“The talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical final talk, with a topic such as what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?” And can be seen here:
