Here I am, just finished cleaning my bathroom and it wasn’t a easy task, not because I don’t know how to clean it, but the difficulty behind removing mo and other stains. I have been prolonging this for a while, but finally is over and it looks so good and feels even better.
Everything has a point in life, as well as a lesson and the cleaning remind me of a teaching I learned a time ago: do things with passion, with energy, with commitment and finally, attitude matters. Which is better than always smiling (a recommendation by some people) because is way more easy to smile than enjoying a job you need to do, that pays for the food you eat the next day. If that is the case and it is not enjoyable (what is enjoyable of cleaning?) or is just to survive (and if you don’t have a choice), then what better thing to do than being positive and enjoying it.
When you give it your all and you look back, it feels so good. Take for example starting your own business (yes its a cliche, but it’s true) and it is successful. When you look back after five years, that dear readers, is priceless. But what about those things that don’t turn out so good, and you spent some much resources and energy , but your business didn’t survive or you didn’t get the grade you thing you deserve. It sucks and life is not fair, but you still feel good, you probably going to complain, but it is still rewarding since next time it might click or learn something about it.
Don’t do things for the money, even if you need it, trust me you will be miserable. Why? Well, we all have our emotional (or motivational) ups or downs, so when you are in those downs, it will hurt like hell and next day it will be worst. You will start to complain and complain digging a hole you can’t get off. Then suddenly there is no meaning on life it becomes a habit like somebody said once (couldn’t find the author) “the man makes the habit .. then the habit makes the man”.
If you think about it, it kind of sucks waiting for a reward for helping somebody or being a waitress waiting every time for a tip. What is the point of impressing your boss or teacher, or going overboard so a girl will notice you (although if she is hot or sexy there might be a point).
I had the experience recently of participating on a contest, that I still don’t know why I did it. The only reason I finished, because I have a rule in life that I should try to finish 99% of the things I start. And don’t get me wrong, the people where cool and very nice (and I just bitched around) and I learn a lot, however my attitude was the worst and that made it pain full. But its tough to see things with a positive attitude when you are in that hole.
If you have task to do give it all, if you have to multitask (very common this days) give it all you got, because at the end of the day you know what you are made of. You know that you don’t need to take any BS from anybody (but also remember to be respectful). That is what we need today, people thinking they can take on everything, because life can be “brutal”. And you never know, how your attitude inspires people, to the level that you may even had save a lost soul without noticing.
